In my whole life, I have never seen people who are so mixed up between professional and personal lives like our Egyptian people.
It is so annoying to see people who are so unaware how to set limits between personal and professional acts.
I believe, we are warm and kind people at heart, but we need to understand that our work has to be done with the utmost level of professionalism and efficiency.
There is nothing such as for my sake, or for the prophet sake. It is really a matter of attitude.
People don't wish to work, but expect to be paid the highest possible salaries even if they were not efficient.
People abuse their workplace and use its assets and services without feeling guilty about is as if they own the place;
What is wrong with us, is it our educational system, our ethics have changed, our values are no more there or is it simply that people don't care to separate their personal from professional lives.
The other day, I watch on TV a piece of news that shocked me: a police officer in a street fight pulls out his official gun to shoot a person who was fighting with his brother and killed him.....
Where are we??? What is going through people's minds.... Are we losing control... People wake up before it is too late.

Noha, what I read in what you wrote here is a little confusing. You are talking about three different issues and yet under one title which is "Professional Versus Personal" The title as far as I am concerned means: Someone related to someone somehow and working in the same place and takes advantage of the relationship to get away with anything he wants. (i.e. my brother in law works in my office, then my bro in law can come later than others and leave earlier etcc etccc) and many other examples which I will not mention because I think that only one will give you a picture of what I mean which I think is what your subject article means. You are also asking what happened to us people (Egyptians)? Its not Egyptians(S) it is a certain category of Egyptians, the ones that no matter how much they work and how many hours they invest in their work and and and, they can still not make ends meet, so here comes the negative attitude through despair. The other issue is about this piece of news that you read: I am not defending the person who pulled out the gun, not at all, nobody has the right to take anyone's life. But.... let us see and analyze this officer's or soldier's state of mind generally and at the time of the shooting. Do we know how much stress this officer is under considering the conditions under which he works? We dont know. Do we know what prompted him to shoot? No we don't. I once saw a soldier on the streets on my way to work being slapped across the face by a taxi driver in the middle of the busy morning traffic because he told him to stop and let another car pass, they got into a spat that lasted 30 seconds and the next thing I saw is the taxi driver slapping the villager soldier who is supposedly attending to his duties which he knows nothing about, who was of course wearing his uniform and called him names involving his mother. Now you put yourself in this soldier's shoes..What would you do? you are trying to do your work and God knows how much work traffic needs for adjustment during the rush hour which has become a 24 hour rush not just one. Anyhow, this poor soul removed his cap to be able to slap that driver back and they got into a fist fight and the poor soldier was beaten by the driver and camarade sitting next to him, people interfered put the cap back on the bleeding soldier's head and the spectators told him (7a2ak 3alena) and the story ended this way (I stopped and watched this circus because I could not believe what I was seeing and needless to tell you that I was about to get out of my car and kill the taxi driver with my bear two hands I was so annoyed for the poor villager. So Noha relax!!!! its only Genes, ethics, working environment, living environment, poverty, despair and all that goes with it that make these people act the way they do. But hang in there to appreciate today because the worse is yet to come and A La Prochaine!!!! keep on your blog blog blog I love it. Aline
